New Construction Project Completed and Set to Open in October
Pingtung Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare entrusted the CPA to handle the Nursing Home Expansion Project - Geriatric Medical Building of Pingtung Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare. Construction of the main building and subsequent interior decoration work were completed at the end of August 2019, and use by the hospital could commence in October.
To improve long-term care services and living standards for inpatients, the goal of this construction work was to create a professional senior care facility. Besides the addition of 150 beds and a 60-person daytime care team, the building implemented the 3H design principle, integrating and establishing the warmth of home, the comfort of a high-end hotel, and the professional medical services of a hospital. Professional senior medical care was thereby established as a goal of sustainable development.
Government Promotion of the Long-Term Care 2.0 Policy
Pingtung Hospital serves as a medical care provider in northern Pingtung; the intermediary for the emergency medical communication network; and a contingency hospital for control and treatment of infectious diseases in the Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas. Aside from these important roles, it is also an important advocate of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's policies. In line with local medical care and the rising needs for nursing care in current society, the Long-Term Care 2.0 policy has been strongly emphasized by the central government. This expansion plan will make up for deficiencies the current care system, and provide higher quality and more efficient services to the people of Pingtung.
Outstanding Quality to Compete in the Public Construction Excellence Award
This construction site is located at the intersection of Pingtung City's Gongyuan Road and Ziyou Road. Due to restrictions of the construction site's surroundings, the design used slurry wall construction to overcome the impact and difficulties brought on by the site's proximity to Wannian River. In line with the CPA's reputation and tradition of excellent construction quality, this construction project received a high score of 85 when inspected by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The construction team is preparing to compete in the Executive Yuan's 2019 Public Construction Excellence Awards and Kaohsiung City's Urban Construction Excellence Awards. Bright outcomes are expected. The CPA has also provided the hospital with high-quality space and equipment to benefit the people of Pingtung.
