The National Land Management Agency (NLMA) today (26th) subsidized the county government to hold the "Human-oriented Transportation, Campus Education Promotion, and Urban and Rural Landscape National Joint Achievement Exhibition" at Checheng Wood Museum in Nantou County. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was co-hosted by Deputy Chief Engineer Su Chien-Lung of the NLMA, Deputy Magistrate Wang Jui-Te of Nantou County, and Representative Tsai I-Chen of Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, formally unveiling the event.

The National Land Management Agency (NLMA) stated that this exhibition will last for 23 days from October 26 to November 17. It will gather together key achievements of transportation construction projects across the country in 6 major exhibition areas, including award-winning works of "Good Roads" in 2020 and 2023, outstanding works of the "Tribute to Urban and Rural Charm Awards" in 2024, works in the 2024 Nantou County Human-oriented Transportation Creative Competition, and examples of construction projects over the years. There is also an exhibition area for videos of human-oriented transportation construction projects in various counties and cities across the country, allowing people to gain an in-depth understanding of the process of improving the human-oriented transportation environment and urban and rural landscapes.

The NLMA further stated that AR and VR games were prepared to provide more diverse activities for promoting human-oriented transportation education. The relaxing and interesting game experience of the online treasure hunt, card collection, lucky draws after completing challenges, and Monopoly allow the public to better understand the basics of pedestrian traffic safety facilities at intersections, sidewalk environment, elderly-friendly demonstration areas, reducing roadside obstacles, and improving safety at intersections without traffic signals. A "Pedestrian Friendly Area" and "Pedestrian Priority Area" were set up in the exhibition area in coordination with the "Pedestrian Traffic Safety Facilities Act" promulgated on October 1 this year (2024), incorporating current human-oriented transportation safety issues and establishing correct traffic concepts. In addition, the central and local governments need to work together to combine different expertise and people to achieve streets with smooth traffic, and improve the overall living environment in urban and rural areas. From road engineering to concept education, expanding park green spaces, waterfront environments, or incorporating local cultural features, these efforts are all based on the perspective of letting people blend into the environment, and jointly achieve balanced development between urban and rural areas in people's everyday life, in order to achieve the wonderful vision of "people-oriented, sustainable construction".
